Diabetes and mental health

Re: Diabetes and mental health

That's not harsh @Till23 xx

It's funny @Till23 , @Jynx

When I think I am doing good My levels goes up 😂😂

You know when I was having sleepless nights this week --- my levels were high at 2am

Re: Diabetes and mental health

I thought @Jynx might think it was a harsh response to her post, in which they might have been making a joke. I have a healthcare background as you know so might have been too defensive.

Ah the 2am "red cordial" effect 🤣. As you probably know it's hard to get the short acting and long acting insulin ratio right, so get those night time spikes. or you might be on an insulin pump

Re: Diabetes and mental health

Nah I think you are 100% correct @Till23 and I did not experience that as harsh at all. I am always down for being called out when I am wrong, and especially when it comes to something that could influence a person's health journey.

You are a good egg, I appreciate that you followed your instincts and didn't let it slide 💜

@Shaz51 😉

Re: Diabetes and mental health

@Jynx 😊

@Till23 , I am on 2 diabetes medication plus insulin injections 3 times a day

Re: Diabetes and mental health

Thanks @Jynx I appreciate it.

I do not think you were wrong, just probably making light of something that I think is fairly serious.

Maybe I'm too serious, it's hard without the nuances of voice or facial expression

Re: Diabetes and mental health

Fingers crossed it levels out a bit more if/when you get to dialysis @Shaz51 .

I'm not sure what my blood sugar is doing but my weight has bounced around since my hospital admission. I have to watch cholesterol too.

Re: Diabetes and mental health

@Shaz51 so lots of meds and taking BSLs. A pump would make it easier but not everyone is suitable for it, or it's not suitable for everyone.

Re: Diabetes and mental health

@Till23 I don't think you are too serious, I think you are passionate and definitely more well-informed on the matter than I am, so really you were providing much-needed balance 😌

It can be tricky! That's why I wrote this lol

Re: Diabetes and mental health

Do you think the weight is due to medications @Dimity, one of the lovely side effects of MH medications

Re: Diabetes and mental health

Thanks @Jynx I have read your post previously.

I usually ask people if I think I may have been to direct or possibly caused a feeling of "harm" to someone else. I'm fairly sensitive about "hurting" other people.
