Virtual cruise

Re: Virtual cruise

@Meowmy ahhh the differences between virtual life and reality. Hope work goes ok for you 😊.

Welcome aboard @The-red-centaur, how are you going?

Re: Virtual cruise

Hi @Patches59 @Shaz51 and everyone here. Thanks for inviting me @Shaz51@Patches59 What a great idea for a thread! I love it!

The waterfall looks gorgeous! I’d be sitting on my balcony with a cool drink and taking lots of photos! I look forward to seeing where this cruise takes me next! Maybe in the Pacific Ocean at dolphin and whale watching season hopefully🐬!

I’ve done 1 cruise which was last September on Carnival Splendor out of Sydney and up to the Great Barrier Reef stopping at Airlie Beach, Cairns and Moreton Island over 9 days. The ship also did a cruise by Willis Island - a weather station island in the middle of the Coral Sea - so they could open up the duty free ships and to say the ship went into international waters for the large amount of international tourists on the ship. The cruise is regarded as a domestic cruise for Australian residents but you need to purchase travel insurance for international waters for medical reasons as Medicare doesn’t work for medical issues as Carnival is a US cruise line and not covered in Australia for anything medical. Definition- we pack a lot of medications and medical supplies just in case as a trip to the medical centre is something like $250 for a band aid or seasickness tablet! I digress! I personally loved the whole experience despite missing the Brisbane Lions AFL Grand Final- my team- due to the weather being rainy on pool deck where they were showing it on the big screen. Luckily I didn’t get seasick unlike my housemate/best friend who spent most days with on/off being sick - we spent a lot of the time on lower decks where the ship was less rocky for her and out of our room which was on deck 9 (perfect for the Buffett and adults only pool area!). She disliked  being in the Coral Sea once the ship left Cairns and headed back down the coast to Moreton Island as it was so rough at times. Even heading out of Sydney on the depart night (ship didn’t leave til 9pm on the Friday night after being delayed coming back into Sydney from a previous cruise due to rough weather coming back in) was rough and that included the following day heading up to the warmer QLD weather which finally happened on the Sunday and was perfect weather for several days afterwards! Let’s just say we’ve booked another holiday leaving later next month heading to Port Douglas on the same ship with me making sure to pack some extra garbage bags and some extra seasickness tablets for the cruise! Oh, and some extra knitting needles and wool for my housemate as she wanted to knit to help keep herself distracted during her sickness periods! I’m also planning on taking a diamond art coaster kit to do during sea days and extra wool and knitting needles along with playing cards and a uno game as well!

Keep on posting more details about this fabulous cruise holiday. I’m excited to see where the captain takes me next!

Oh I am loving the ambience of the waterfall! The water looks so inviting!

Re: Virtual cruise

How about a vigin mojito fizz or a lavender lemonade fizz? There is always a Shirley Temple as well?
