Oh @Shaz51 you would freeze in shorts down here. Definitely layering up, skivvies and being warm trumps looks.
@MissinTooth my mother was big on the being lady like. I think it was more her generation than mine. I don’t think she ever forgave me for wearing jeans and riding a motorbike.
I actually enjoy mixing and matching clothes these days. I have heaps, lots from the opshop… skirts, dresses and pants and tops. Poverty and not being well dressed enough, was an issue when I was younger, but now I enjoy dressing up and down and thinking about colour. I can’t stand shopping for clothes, though. lol. I have enough to last a lifetime. When I worked at the opshop, 20 years ago, we got good deals like fill a bag for $10, so I am lucky. One day a shelf in my closet collapsed due to the weight. lol. So am I getting into my feminine side more, yes in some ways, I can afford it. I did feel that the need to be more practical and masculine was partly due to my father’s death when I was young. We had to fill in the gaps. I had friends who taught me to ride and basic mechanics. I like being able to be flexible.
