I differ on a woman does not need to fix a man when he is broken, she needs a partner.
i would say something like
If a woman loves her man, also if, or when, he falls, she will harvest a devoted friend forever. (And the other way around of course)
Not in judgement on those who could not. It is does not have to be an obligation. (Only when you promise this to one another when you married or decided to stay to together in a true love relationship, like we did.) For i know it was the love of my wife, (as well as my children and grandchildren but to a much lesser degree,) her loving faithful devotion to me, The Truth used to heal me a broken person.
Consequently we are best friends forever! For i saw her do that for me, and she knows i suffered utter misery but still refused to end it because she loved me and i her. And that is worth everything to true love. Even suffering the brokenness of her man and a life of suffering misery for him.My past brokenness healed in front of our eyes, each time we met each other in our love for each other, no matter how broken i was there at the time. True Love Heals and has taken us such an incredible long way getting to how to love true. 43 years of marriage, many of those years with much hardship. Yet we both overcame together still, and very much more, loving each other.

I know you have gone through a lot, and it sounds like it has made you a better and more entuned couple in the end. I am so happy for the both of you. That type of love is rare.
My partner and I went through a bit about 8 years ago, but now we are so much stronger because of it. And we have a deeper understanding of each other and how we work.
